Covid 19 : Not working in plasma therapy, the center excluded this method from the treatment of covid

The National Covid Task Force has removed ‘Convective Plasma Therapy’ from the proposed list of Covid treatments. Convulsive plasma therapy has been widely used to treat patients who are not hospitalized. But experimental applications have shown that this method is not very effective in preventing covid infections and deaths due to covid. After that, the task force formed at the center decided not to use it.

Scientists, physicians and experts on ICMR's Covid Task Force held a meeting last week. It was there that the proposal to exclude plasma therapy from Covid's medical procedure was unanimous. Vijay Raghavan also wrote a letter to the Chief Scientific Adviser on the subject. The letter also described the use of plasma therapy as "irrational and unscientific". This decision was taken after that.

Incidentally, ICMR studies have shown that while first-wave plasma therapy has yielded promising results in some cases, it has not been able to play a significant role in preventing corona death. According to one physician, plasma therapy is not at all successful in treating people with moderate to mild symptoms who do not have coronary heart disease. Randeep Guleria, director of the Delhi AIIMS, has even said to be wary of steroid use.
